Hyacinths are not the only types of bulbs that can be forced on vases - the technique can equally well be used with crocuses and tulips, although tulip forcing on vases never was very common. Each type of bulb has its corresponding design of bulb glass. Picture 7 is a copy of the 1969 sales brochure of the now defunct Dutch wholesale company Rimac. I have this charming little crocus glass now in 15 colours. Forcing amaryllis bulbs (Hippeastrum) on vases has been always difficult; however in 1999 I developed a patented amaryllis vase design.
